aaaaaaaaaaaaiii

I have received really great e-mails from some members of the armed forces over in Iraq and Afganistan saying my Hawk's Legend series had given them some escape from the daily stresses and thanked me for posting them for free.
It is we that should be thanking you for all you're doing for this great country of ours. I'm glad I was able to contribute a little to your R&R. Stay safe and may you all come home soon!

Again, thanks for taking the time to drop me a line and let me know what you think of this project.

On the formatting (using italics) From J.S. OK.
You were only one of many that did not care for italics, so due to a lots of mail stating the readers didn't like the italics, the italics have been changed to standard formatting. That's why I asked for comments. Even the negitive ones.

Yes, there is a sequel in the works. This novel was originally planned as a trilogy, but wound up being just a two part novel. The sequel picks up 30 years later (and leaves way for a 3rd in between... we'll see ;-)
As most sequels do, this will add to the first and explain in greater depth, things that were purposly only mentioned in the first. A few things that are revealed a bit more; Hawk's cycle, more on the mutants, etc.
There are some additional characters and it is revealed who the stranger at the end of the first is. And probably one story twist no one expected.
The sequel is still in its final write, then must be copyrighted, but will be finished.

This whole project was started on the suggestions of several that read my manuscript and their friends that wanted to read it. Rather than pass one copy around and save on paper doing more... Guess this project  was my solution.
BTW;  Say hi to your cousin for me.

Sorry, no. I have a place for donations, true, but no, I will not sell the entire novel. (lol, even though your offer was more than generous ;-) You'll have to wait for the end like the rest of my visitors/ readers.
The whole idea was to try this as a serialized novel/ story. So far it has met with some success as I have many returning each week to get the next three chapters. It wouldn't really be fair to them to sell the book to a few that asked. Not to mention it would defeat the purpose of the project.
(BTW: KT said he would continue coming back each week if I didn't let him have the full novel)

Actually, the idea came from one of those vivid dreams, that believe it or not, picked up close to where I left off the night before. Of course thinking this to be sort of strange, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Eventually a world started to take shape and curiously got the best of me and I started writing it down, just to see how it developed.
By the time I got an outline down, it was a planned trilogy, that didn't quite make it past two. (as mentioned there could be a third that takes place in the 30 year gap between the novels) (assuming there is interest, as I have no plans presently to start it before I get the results from the first two. If I get enough readers, then, a third will be written.

From L.H.   There has been a few emails on this topic, so I'll try to answer it the best I am able.
I write as a hobby and have several other projects.
Getting published is really a hassle I didn't care to get into as Publishing companies, won't even talk to you unless you have had a work published or have a literary agent.  Agents say they take new clients, but really don't want to read your work, unless you have had other works in print. So finding one that will look through the roughness of someone that writes for a hobby, is next to impossible.
I did try about 20 or so, then read the average (on the low side) is about 100 submissions.
100?    Minimum?  Not that I'd ever be the next King or Clarke. 100? Seriously? I wonder how many great writers are giving up on their projects. How many great stories are never being read?
If only one person reads and enjoys my offering, then so be it. If many do all the better.
So I hope that satisfies, why this project. ;-D
I prefer a message that you enjoyed this novel (or are in the process of enjoying it) rather than offering to buy it. Tell someone else about it, send some traffic here, rather than a donation.

There has only been a couple of questions on this subject, so let me try to combine it here.
* No, there are not any cookies from my site.
* There are no ads (although there may be in the future, we'll see how expensive this project gets (and yes I have had a few "Would you be willing to put our ad on your site" messages. As my other web site policies, I try not to put ads on a site unless I actually use and like something. (again this depends upon how expensive this project gets)
* I send out no spam, mass emails or anything else. If I respond to some of your emails, it will be so on a one on one basis.
* How do I pay for this site? Lol, out of my pocket.

Actually I do have the ability to add a forum. Don't let the counter fool you though. Most of the traffic is just people stopping by to check the site out. Presently there are not enough 'regulars' to warrent maintaining a forum.
It is something I will keep in mind if things change. For the time being I did this page to answer some questions.
Thanks for the suggestion.

P.s. The counter seems a bit quirky. It shows doesn't seem to move, then all of a sudden there is a big jump. I may just do away with it.

If more questions or topics arise, then I'll add them to this page.

Actually I do have a short story that I copywrited a couple of years ago, but it isn''t like this. It was about a man, a squirrel, and a magical grove and the effects on his life.
Will I post it, not sure as most readers stick to subjects they like to read and this site is more romance, si-fi, adventure, etc.
In the future I may post some various short stories from myself and others.

Thanks for the great e-mail RM. It's nice to hear form readers. Glad it gave you something to do during your commute.
You guessed it, I do not have a professional proof reading service (did all the typo's give me away ;-) That's the biggest time consuming part of writing, I have three novella's in various stages. They are all done, but in need of proofing. I have three more planned, but not even near print (because of the back log of proofing needed to be done yet)

Lol, You didn't say what country, but good luck. That's great you found my site. Even greater you finished all three so fast. (lots of waiting for your turn?) Check my links page (if you haven't already) There are links to other on line free novels.
Heh, tell your room mate sorry I don't write in French (thanks for reading/translating the original for her)

Really sorry you didn't like the first. At least you did finish it to give the story a chance. To be sure I'm no professional and if you look at the first post on this side, you'll see why there are quite a few typos.
You did give me a few things to consider, but I write for the pleasure of it and do have quite a few that try to overlook the typos. Hopefully they'll be less in the future. You're correct, just because my stories are free does not give me a right to be sloppy, I just have limited recourses and try to do the best I can with the time I allot myself per story.
I'm sorry you couldn't just try to overlook the typos and enjoy the story for what it/they are as I'm sure many have done to this date.
BTW, see I do post negative mail replies.

Annon: Thanks for the professional comments. As mentioned I have no formal typing and seems I do have a penchant for typos. (My mind usually is running about two sentences faster than my fingers)
You are the second reviewer to contact me and like the first, I'm glad you really like the various works of mine.
I probably couldn't afford a professional editor and without one, doubt if an agent would be interested in my works with all the typos ;-) But thanks for writing (and comments)
